Literature is the human creation that expresses the idea, thought, comprehension, and conception of the life in emotional and imaginative language. In a novel, the readers can find exploration of human personality, so many characters of people and human behavior can be found in it. These things can make the readers wise up and enable them to know the way to cope and understand other people’s thoughts. The readers can get a better view of things that happen in people’s mind and emotion. Therefore the writer focused her study on An Analysis of Josephine’s Emotion in Louisa May Alcott’s Novel entitled “Little Women” The objectives of this study were 1) to know Josephine’s emotion in Louisa May Alcott’s novel “Little Women”. 2) to identify the way how Josephine expresses her emotion in Louisa May Alcott’s novel “Little Women”. 3) to analyze the effects of her emotion to her self. The design of this study was descriptive research with the emphasis on the emotion of Josephine as main character in the novel “Little Woman”. In collecting the data, the researcher read and understood the novel, then chose the data dealing with the problems, namely: what are the Josephine’s emotion, how are the Josephine’s emotion express and what are the effects of Josephine’s emotion toward herself, then selected the data which are related to the purposes of the study and rewrote all of the data which haven been chosen based on the original quotations in the novel. The finding showed that there were some emotions belonged to Josephine in the novel Little Women, namely: anger, fear, love and anxiety. Among those emotions were described by words and by actions. The emotions of fear, love and anxiety emotions were described by words. While anger emotion was described by both word and action. The effects caused by emotions belonged to Josephine character to her self are of two kinds: good and bad effects. The good effects were having good relationship which was caused by anxiety emotion, having good brotherhood which was caused by fear emotion and becoming a daughter whose parents were proud of which was caused by love emotion. And the bad effect was regret which was caused by anger emotion.
