Abstract

Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) nowadays was interested many people. Indonesia absorbed many workforces from various group which called distributor, from students, unemployment person, even from individual who had fixed-occupation. They who had job but still unsatisfied with the job they owed, they chose Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) business. Distributors owed certain motivation in focusing Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) business. So the research aimed to find out how the motivation of Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) distributor. The research was quantitative descriptive. Population in this research was Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) distributor of Tianshi in Malang City region. Sampling technique used was purposive sampling, where the samples were 42 people. Data collection method used in the research used questionnaire with polling method. Data analysis technique used was descriptive statistic analysis used percentage. The research showed that motivation of Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) distributor ranked from five motivator factors found: (1) job itself showed (90,48%) fancy occupation, (78,57%) job fit with their will; (2) Growth and development showed (87,71%) could developed person’s potential in working, (61,9%) chance to work better; (3) recognition showed (73,81%) appreciation to distributor achievement, (71,43%) company’s recognition for achieved distributor; (4) responsibility showed (66,67%) not only tried to run the duty but also felt to owe the job (59,52%) larger chance to responsible for their job; (5) achievement showed (66,67%) could reach better result from occupation, (52,38%) larger chance to reach achievement. The other motivating factors outside those five factors were: (64,29%) social needs, (23,81%) getting business and marketing science, and (11,9%) to get cheaper product.
