Abstract

Surgery procedure (include Caesar surgery) have a risk of body integrity disturbance even as a threatening of life. The complication that can occur is hypothermic, more worse than pain feeling, and disturb observation of client appearance. Interventions for decreasing shivering after surgery are active internal warmer and active external warmer, one of this intervention is using of intravenous fluid warmer. This research purpose to know the effectiveness of intravenous fluid warmer treatment on decreasing hypothermic sign for client post Caesar surgery. Design of this research is a quasi experiment research, with amount of sample is 13 interventions group and 13 controls group. Intervention group wear blanket and use intravenous fluid warmer, while the control group only wear blanket. Data is collected by observation of body temperature before intervention, 10 minutes, 30 minutes, and 60 minutes after intervention. Data is analyzed by Independent sample t-test with margin of error () is 0,05. Result of this research shows that after 60 minutes of intervention, 100% of respondents of intervention group have a body temperature back to normal, while in control group, only 7,7% of their body temperature back to normal. Result of independent sample t-test shows that significance value (P) is 0.000 on 10 minutes, 30 minutes and 60 minutes after intervention, that mean is using intravenous fluid warmer plus wearing blanket is more effective than only wearing blanket for client post Caesar surgery. This result is happened because of the intervention group have both active internal warming (intravenous fluid warmer) and active external warming (wearing blanket), while on control group, respondents have only active external warming (wearing blanket).
