Abstract

MIDI is a new alternative for music lovers who want to enjoy some form of extraordinary musicality. Unlike the MP3 files, MIDI files can be heard without a single vowel sound, just music. Instumentation of guitar, bass, keyboards, and drums feels a lot stronger without overshadowed by the sound of the vocalist. To produce a work of a song, a composer usually requires a variety of musical instruments to compose his work. So that the tools were necessary in order to represent a wide range of musical instruments that are used to compose a song. To overcome this, there was made a software tool called the Midi Editor. This software is created using the Java API that represents JFugue music into programming languages. This software is created using the Java programming language. By using this software, users can create, edit, save, play and produce files in midi format. Users can choose the track, the type of notation, musical instruments, adjust the tempo and volume, as well as determining the octave and duration. Is expected that this software can help a novice composer, especially in making a song.
