Abstract

Write short story is one of skill in larguage ability that has close relationship with literature. However, in writing activity student did not well to understand about it, it is because in the teaching learning process the teacher is still become a center of learning, so it can make effect for the teaching learning process that less interactive. This way can effect to the lower students activity and the decrease of their score so they can not reach KKM that should be done, that is 75. This study uses media that is sequence picture media, this media ha purpose to improve the ability in writing short story, especially for students for grade X in SMA Muhammadiyah I Malang. This study observing and reflection, the practice of this action can do in several steps, such as pre writing, writing and end writing. The result of analysis in improving writing short story for students on the pre writing step showed that the students get improving because before doing the action there were 6 students were spassed with average score 60,4, while in siclus I there were 12 students were passed individually with average score student 65,2. At siclus II there were 12 students were passed individually with average score 78,2 in the teaching learning process. The result of analysis in improving writing short story before doing an action there 5 were students were passed in teaching learning process with average score 53,4, and then the student got an action used seqvence picture media in siclus I with theme "relationship", it showed that there were 12 students were passed with average score 63,5, and in siclus II with theme about "love", there were 19 students were passed with average score 78,5 in teaching learning process. According to the result in siclus I and siclus II an the end writing, step in siclus I the students were still corrected the paper in completely, it can be showed from the correct paper well, it can be showed from the paper that filled comment. On the other had the teaching learning process with seqvence picture media can improve the writing ability of students.
