Abstract

Almost all problems can be solved by computer calculations. To solve the problems of science researchers using several technologies, one of which is parallel computing. Parallel computing can be implemented on the local area network with computers that already exist, so as to minimize the cost. Then the parallel computing flexible with the development of technology. This research will discuss about the optimization process based parallel computing on computer networks which are connected dynamically by building a computer cluster. Where a computer cluster will be connected to all computers, and between processes on the computer will communicate using Message Passing Interface (MPI) that LAM / MPI. From the research of computational time data taken from the Mandelbrot Set program execution fraktral sequential and parallel, we gate speedup value obtained at 2000 iterations is 1.9105646 with efficiency value is 38.2111292% and for 10,000 iterations speedup is 2.09225895 with efficiency value is 41,845179%. From the results it is known that parallel computing can optimize computing the Mandelbrot Set.
