Abstract

Most of Indonesia's territory consists of a very wide ocean. So the areas in Indonesia are in coastal areas. It cannot be denied that the area around the coast has great potential to make the sea coast area a source of livelihood for the surrounding population. However, currently, most marine coastal areas have not been managed properly, so that the quality of the coastal environment is still given little attention, there is a lot of pollution and environmental damage which ultimately threatens the potential development of these coastal areas. Therefore, concrete steps are needed in the form of sustainable environmental management, control and monitoring. This is because the source of pollution and environmental damage comes from activities on land and sea. The management steps that must be taken are waste management and implementing integrated management that involves all parties. Steps to control the occurrence of pollution and damage to coastal areas need to be carried out by preventing, overcoming and restoring damage or pollution that has occurred.
