Abstract
Backgraund : Diabetes (DM) can cause complication to the other diseases, sigh upset is one of it. The complication can be cataract. Purpose : To identify the relationship between cataract indication and the high glucose level patient DM type 2 on medical record from jombang hospital period of 1st January 31st December 2008. Research Method : The research used cross sectional metode. The data used in this research were the results of diabetic mellitus patient type 2 on medical record from jombang hospital period of 1st January 31st December 2008. The effect between cataract indication and the blood glucose level on the DM patient type 2 is tested by regretion trst. Result of the study : The research results showed that mostly patient DM type 2 had poor blood glucose level (66,4%) at RSUD.Jombang. about cataract inciden patient DM type 2 more prevalent with no cataract (33,6%). The regretion test showed that there was a significant effect between high blood sugar level on the DM patient type 2 to the cataract indication (r= 0,177 with p= 0.045). When the DM patient who had a good blood sugar level inclined not to have cataract than the patient who had a bad blood sugar level.Conclution : High sugar level incline to cause the DM patient type 2 more risky to effect by cataract.
