Abstract

This research is quantitative research that aims to test the differences in student’s critical thinking who follow and didn’t follow the guidance of learning.Critical thinking is needed for each individual because the individual critical thinking will be able to determine an appropriate problem solving in every problem at hand. critical thinking is an ability which in receiving information, the individual can not simply accept or reject the information, but he also understands and evaluates the received information actively and systematically, so that individuals can make objective decisions based on reasons that are well supported Following the guidance of learning is one way to learn outside of school aid given to students in overcoming the existing problems in school lessons. The variables in this study are independent variables, dependent and control. Where students who follow and didn’t follow the guidance of learning is an independent variable and critical thinking as the dependent variable, whereas the control variable is the IQ above average and below average. Population in this research are students of class X MAN 2 BATU. The instruments in this research uses critical thinking scale. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling and random sampling with a sample totaling 74 students, divided into 37 students follow the tutorial and 37 students did not follow the guidance of learning. Analysis of the data in this study used t­test. Obtained results from the study were students who did not follow the guidance of student learning 25 (33.8%) pertained in low think and 12 students (16.2%) pertained to critically high think, while the students who follow the guidance of student learning 14 (18.9%) pertained to critically low think and 23 students (31.1%) higher in critical thinking. so that shows there are differences in critical thinking in students who follow and didn’t follow the guidance of learning. T­test analysis results showed that there were significant differences (t=3,386:sig=0,001<0,01) views from the learning process, Student’s who follow the guidance of learning have better critical thinking ( X=15,0) than students who do not follow the guidance of learning ( X =11,59).
