Abstract
Protection to the children is not only in the condition of children as a systemic victims, but also protection to the children who do criminality. Child protection should not conducted excessively and should concerned on the effect both to the environment and the child itself, so that the efforts of protection do not caused a negative effect and also the children rights can be maximally fulfilled. The data obtained by the author in the research site from 2005 to April 2009 show the high rate of criminality, that are 321 cases, while hard criminality is 52 cases. The research used socio juridical approach method, data collected by interview and direct observation in the site of Polres Lamongan District as a primary data. From the result, data being proceed and descriptively analyzed to know the protection of law to the children as a suspect of major injustice action were not completely fulfilled based on formulated in the legislation for example Kitab Undang-Undang Hukum Acara Pidana, Code Number 23, 1997 about Child Protection, Code Number 3, 1997 about Child Trial i.e., child interrogation should be in the kinship atmosphere, child identity should be confidential, the suspect should accompanied by the lawyer in each level. So far, the execution of law protection towards the suspect as a major injustice action in the Polres Lamongan District have not implemented optimally because of: the law itself, maintenance of law, supporting facilities and medium, society, and the culture. It needs some efforts to optimally conduct the law protection towards the rights of the children as a suspect of major injustice action in the Polres Lamongan District, for examples: education, training, seminar/workshop, cooperation, and socialization
