Abstract

The fact in the education world, we still found many study that defend to the old method, for example lecture, memorize, and dry discussion. If we see objectively, from the elementary school level until university level, some teacher still apply that old study method. Admitted or not that old method make a little involved by students in study. Of course the mentioned doesn’t give a chance to students to communicating optimally. Active study, innovative, creative, effective, and fun (PAIKEM) is one of solution to presentation the study that concentrates on students and effort to increase the students mathematic communication ability. The application of PAIKEM will make students active in asking for something, give conception, and reveal their idea or their brainchild. Students more creative in problem solving, so those study more effective and fun for student. This research aims to: (1). See and describe students activity, (2). See and describe the students output, and (3). To know the students mathematic communication ability. This research use a qualitative approach and the kind of this research is descriptive. Data that taken in this research are data of activity students, data of output students, and data of students mathematic communication ability. The subject is 3B grade student of SD 9 Muhammadiyah Malang that number 28 students. The analysis that got, show that the category of activity of students is good, the student output has achieved completion classically that is 75%, the category of students mathematic communication ability in writing ability is good and the average percentage is 91%, and the category of students mathematic communication ability in verbally is good and the average percentage is 78%.
