The purposes of this study are to describe the kinds of conflict faced by the main character in Judith-Michael‟s novel “Deceptions” and to find out the most dominant conflict in Judith-Michael‟s novel “Deceptions”. The researcher of this novel used descriptive method in analyzing the novel. The approach that is used in this study is objective approach, which is based on studying in literary it‟s self, that is, only on the conflicts encountered by the main character. The conflicts are divided into three, such as: Psychological, social, and physical conflicts. The object of the study is the novel “Deceptions” written by Judith-Michael. The result of this study shows that psychological conflict happened when Sabrina pretend to be her twin sister and she was afraid if someone knew the truth, when Sabrina was jealous to Stephanie because she had a happy family, Sabrina suffered because she felt she was partly responsible for Stephanie‟s death and when Sabrina could not think how she can end the deceptions after Stephanie‟s death. Social conflict happened between Sabrina and Garth that is when Garth knew the truth that Sabrina was not his real wife and when he realized that Sabrina had decepted him. Physical conflict happened when Sabrina and her twin sister were hidden in a small room when they were young, when Sabrina had difficulty in finding potholders in Stephanie‟s kitchen, when Sabrina had accident, and when Sabrina did not know where the medical center was. And the most dominant conflict encountered by the main character is psychological conflict because in this novel, the main character made a deception which cannot let anybody knew and the main character also found it hard to end the deception, so that it involved the main character‟s feeling.
