Abstract

See how dangerous the effects of Styrofoam for human life and the environment, as well as the structure of the material that is lightweight and easily broken, then it can prove that the Styrofoam box was not good as a store of fish. To create a box that can maintain an indoor temperature remains lower than the outdoor temperature is usually in the range of industries use an insulating material, but in addition to expensive and heavy, the size of the use of insulating materials sometimes seen as less practical. So to replace the function of insulating material is used or a low-pressure air cavity called the vacuum. From the results of the test data calculations have been carried out the authors, the performance of a vacuum cavity with a degree of vacuum of 60 cm HG at a temperature of 50°C produces a convection heat transfer rate in a vacuum chamber of 10.377 watts and the percentage difference between the rate of convection heat transfer in a cavity with a total heat transfer rate of -0.249%.
