Abstract

Currently, a lot of air pollution raised was caused by motor vehicle of exhaust gas emissions, which are becoming increasing usage and pollution that generate more and more. There are several ways that can be taken to overcome these problem: emisissions testing, selection of alternative fuels that environmental friendly use of catalytic converter. Catalytic converter is a device located in front of pre-exhaust silencers or mufflers, which serve to alter the result of burning substances (HC2 CO2 NOX) become an environmental friendly substances (H2O, CO2, N2). Along with catalytic converter growth technology in recent years. Several good-quality materials such as ceramics and preciousmetals (platinum, palladium, and rodium) which is widely used by factory, but these materials are few and the price is quite expensive cause its usage is restricted. Thus, as the alternative materials used in large amount of materials and are cheaper and simpler, such as brass. After testing catalytic brass converter is able to reduce emissions of HC and CO exhaust gas.
