Abstract

This research aims to determine the response and learning outcomes math class VII student of SMP Negeri 1 Sukapura on the algebra of operations through the use of media block algebra with NHT type of cooperative methods.Indirectly by the learning activities of teachers and students in the classroom will be seen. The research is descriptive qualitative. In this study, the use of media blocks applied algebra with NHT type of cooperative methods with form groups in the learning activity that each member of the group members are numbered. Data collection was done by conducting observation sheet, interview and test (pre test and post test) by the number of research subjects by 27 students. The results showed the average activity of teachers from the first meeting until the third meeting of each is 66.3 % , 73.1 % , and 76.9 % .Seen that the percentage of each meeting activity increased teacher . While the activity of students during the learning process of the results, the results from the first meeting until the third meeting of each is 71.2 % , 77.5 % , and 77.5 %. Seen that from the first meeting to the second meeting has increased while in the second to the third meeting of the average fixed. Based on the results of interviews conducted research after the student’s response to the learning activities undertaken to respond positively in the sense that they liked the learning process implemented. Student learning outcomes before and after the use of the media block algebra with NHT type of cooperative models is also increasing. It can be seen from the results of the initial test and final test. At the time of initial tests are completed none study results, while the final test almost all students complete their learning outcomes. Based on these results, the use of media blocks of algebra with the cooperative model can provide a positive contribution to the learning of mathematics in particular on the subject of the algebra operations.
