Abstract

This Research is a Class Action Research (CAR), which aims to improve the understanding of the concept of a straight line equation through problem posing approach to JIGSAW cooperative learning in class VIII MTs SA Wringin Bondowoso. This research was conducted with the collaboration between subject teachers eighth grade math MTs SA Wringin Bondowoso with investigators . The subjects were eighth grade students totaling 26 students . And instruments in this research is the observation sheet , test questions , student worksheets , and documentation . The results of this study are ( 1 ) understanding the concept of a straight line equation through problem posing approach to JIGSAW cooperative learning can improve understanding the concept of a straight line equation in the eighth grade students of MTs SA Wringin Bondowoso are : informing learning goals and motivation , to inform the topic of learning, group formation and heterogeneous group of experts , expert group discussions , giving an example to create questions , present and original group discussions , a summary and confirmed the materials , giving quizzes , and awards groups . ( 2 ) the average percentage indicator of understanding the concept of a straight line equation is based on the analysis of the results of the test cycle 1 and cycle 2 tests increased by 9.93 % , from 69.56 % to 79.49 % cycle 1 to cycle 2 and high category. ( 3 ) the average percentage indicator of understanding the concept of a straight line equation is based on the results of the analysis of student worksheet increased by 3.54 % , from 75.62 % to 79.16 % cycle 1 to cycle 2 , and the high category . ( 4 ) the percentage of mastery learning students also increased 19,24 % in cycle 1 was 61.53 % increased to 80.77 % in cycle 2.
