Pratama, Nur Aida Endah. 2014. Analysis Relational Understanding Student Of Junior High School 3 Malang Class VIII-3 High Mathematics Ability In Solving MathematicÂ’s Problems. Math And Computation Department, Faculty Of Training And Education, University Of Muhammadiyah Malang. Counselor : (1) Dr. Dwi Priyo Utomo, M.Pd (2) Dr. Baiduri, M.Si. The purpose of this research is describing relational understanding student of Junior High School 3 Malang class VIII-3 High Mathematics Ability in solving mathematics problems material counting operations and factoring Algebra. This research is classified in descriptive qualitative research. It’s to describe the real phenomena as fact with qualitative approaching. For that, researcher used test method and interview method to get and collecting data needed for analyzing. Test is given twice. First test, hold for determining subject research by classified student’s value of first test sign X, to high, medium and low category with these certainty : high =X≥75; medium = 50≤X<75 ; low =X<50. Student’s relational understanding identify from analyzing student worksheet from second test and result of student’s interview. Analyzing done by classified student worksheet to conceptual knowledge and procedural knowledge to know the relation of both knowledge as relational understanding. Based on analyzing result, found : (-) relational understanding of male student in solving question number 1 is connecting 1 of 2 conceptual and procedural knowledge and female student connect all conceptual and procedural knowledge. (-) relational understanding of male student in solving question number 2, 5 and 6 is connecting 4 of 6, 3 of 4 and 4 of 8 of conceptual and procedural knowledge in each question number, and female student is connecting 4 of 6, 4 of 4 and 4 of 8 of conceptual and procedural knowledge in each question number. (-) ) relational understanding of male student in solving question number 3 and 4 is connecting all connection of conceptual and procedural knowledge in each question number, and female student is connecting all connection of conceptual and procedural knowledge in each question number too.
