Abstract

Mathematics is a universal science that underlies the developments of modern technologies, which has an important role in various disciplines and advances of the human intellect. Therefore, mathematics, especially in elementary schools need the most attention from students, teachers and related education department. Elementary School (SD) is one of the basic education levels in Indonesia. According to Piaget they are in the concrete operational stage, where the concrete operational stage learners are able to understand the logical operations with the help of concrete objects. This is contrast with the characteristics of mathematics, which one of the characteristic is study abstract object. Seen from the above problems, the researchers used a technique Jarimatika on learning mathematics in primary schools. This study aims to determine how the implementation and the learning outcomes of students in of mathematics learning in primary schools by using Jarimatika. This study was conducted on 10 September to 20 September 2013. The study was conducted in SDN Tegalgondo 1 in class IV by the number of learners are 28 people 15 male students and 13 female students. The study held in 5 with 4 material meetings and the final meeting for daily test. The results of the research showed that mathematics learning in primary schools using Jarimatika is successful. This is showed by the average percentage of mastery learning is 75.29%. the average teacher percentage is 83.60% including in good categories and the average of leaner activity is 81.90% and including in good categories too.
