Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the difficulties VIIF junior grade Ar-Rohmah Princess Sengkaling Malang in doing math problems on square and rectangular materials based on the type of children's learning. The research method used is descriptive method. Data was collected using a test instrument about square and rectangular. While the source of the data in this study is VIIF grade students and teachers who taught mathematics in junior Ar-Rohmah Princess Sengkaling Malang, which is the object of this study is that VIIF graders, totaling 26 students. The results of the study revealed that there were 15 children with type auditory learning, visual-type 6 children, and 5 children are kinesthetic type. The results also revealed that there are 3 types of common mistakes that cause students difficulty working on the square and rectangular, ie 1) Errors concept; 2) Errors of principle; 3) Error operations. The results showed that based on the results of the individual tests on students' errors occur different types of learning in each child. For the type of audio learning as much as 1.35% of the children who experienced the error on the concept, as many as 0.15% of the children who learn to type errors operasi audio experience, and as much as 2.25% of the children who learn to type audio has an error of principle. Type of visual learning as much as 0.24% of the children who experienced the error concept, and as much as 0.36% of children with type visual learning experience errors principles. Type of kinesthetic learning as much as 0.25% of the children who experienced the error principle.
