The research discussed about female representation in film (Semiotic analysis of “American Pie – Beta House” film by Andrew Waller). The females who were presented here were sexy and skinny. Females were always be focused and exposed deeper. There Showed females in the film were easier to be exploited by males. Interesting Story and problems in this movie made the writer wanted to know further. Moreover, there was so many exploitation to woman whether domestic or abroad, whether exploitation with force, or guaranteed by popularity. The research was also interesting to be analyzed in semiotic way to interpret the manifest contents and describe the latent contents. By analyzing the movie from the visual and audio combination, there was not always the same, according to the reviewer. Semiotic here became the approach to research the movie. The importance was to make semiotic analysis as tool to analyze event, sign of the communication process. In practical dimension, it aimed to find out the mean and sign behind female representation in “American Pie – Beta House” film This research type used denotative-connotative sign of Roland Barthes which based on the sign map of Roland Barthes. The center of discussion was female representation in “American Pie – Beta House” film. The research scope was “American Pie – Beta House” film with 88 minutes duration. In this film there could be seen exploitation to woman, where woman became the man object and tool to get something. In several researched scene, the female who was presented in “American Pie – Beta House” film represented naughty, confidence, physical tendency, want to be attended, weak, passionate, man object and obeyed the male power.
