UD. Wiranto is a company engaged in the furniture industry has characteristics of Job Shop. The company strives to produce products with best quality and to give satisfaction to customers, but there are still some problems in the production process that is still common component product defect in the production process. See the situation with such a method is needed to resolve the issue. By using the six sigma method, used to identify a defect that can improve the quality of the product. Six Sigma methods that are expected to minimize / reduce the occurrence of defect in the production process at UD. Wiranto performance by creating a production process that systematically and continuously. And continue to try to keep the needs and customer satisfaction. Six stages includes sigma phase Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control. In the Define phase pendefinisian made products to be watching the making of chairs and dining flow of production process. Phase measure, using Pareto charts obtained three types of disability which is the critical problem of the type of disability that is broken wood, wood cracked and one piece. Analyze in the next stage of the identification made causes defects using the diagram as a result. Improve and Control on the stage, using FMEA and RPN values obtained on alternative repair process for both disabled broken wood, wood cracked and one piece. After the evaluation of the implementation of the proposed improvements to the alternative with the instructions how to make the operation of the machine, use the form check the operation of the machine and conduct directly to the operator for the comparison of the number of defects after implementation, the number of defects is critical to the start based on the quality of 43 defect, level initial sigma of 3.62 and after impelmentasi proposed improvements based on the number of critical defects to be down 27 quality defect and increase the level of sigma to be 3.80.
