Abstract

Based on the observations and also the result of interview with the fourth grade teachers in MI. Bahrul Ulum Bumiaji-Batu obtained a description of how the classroom situation while learning activity. Students are less motivated in participating in learning activities. This is shown by the behavior of the students during the learning activity taking place, like: Students are sleepy while learning process, students are less excited, and students miss their focuses on the lessons and tend to be passive, its make the learning process centered to the teachers. Learning patterns like this makes the students miss the opportunity to develop their creativity and have not been directly involved in the learning activity. Under these conditions, the action research carried out by applying a learning pattern of Quantum Teaching with a framework design of TANDUR. In this study wanted to see the application of Quantum Teaching learning develop students’ motivation and the learning outcomes of students after the application of Quantum Teaching learning patterns. This research used a qualitative approach, and the data to be collected is descriptive. Data to be taken in this research is the data on the teacher’s activity, student motivation questionnaire outcome data, and the value of the final test/evaluation of the student's,whereas the source of the data from all students of class IV MI. Bahrul Ulum Bumiaji-Batu. About the data collection techniques, the researcher used teacher observation sheet activities and student motivation questionnaire. Learning math by Quantum Teaching trough three stages, (1) the initial activity, (2) core activities, (3) the final activity. The result of research shows that the teacher activity during the learning process can be categorized as very good (A), because it has met the value range 85% - 100%. About the students motivation towards learning that has been done was increased, because students feel motivated to learn and help them understand the material measurement units. The results of students’ evaluation showed more than 80% of students have met the KKM.
