Abstract

The implementations of mathematics studies for the deaf student have the same way with the normal student. The different from these two kinds of student is the language they use in learning process, while the deaf student using sign language and the normal student using spoken language. The deaf student’s obstacle is in their hearing impairment and didn’t affect their intelligence even sometimes cutting their ability in understanding their studies. This research using qualitative plan and descriptive method. This research conducted on 27 Augusts 2012 until 06 September 2012 and takes place at SDLB Tunarungu Ngudi Hayu Togogan Kecamatan Srengat Kabupaten Blitar. The subject of this research is a class teacher and 11 deaf students consist of 6 female students and 5 male student. The study was conducted by doing observation, interview and documentation and using analysis interactive from Miles and Huberman. This research shows that: (1) there are complete learning tool but the teacher didn’t bring all the equipment. This factor gives the different effect on the classroom action. That affected on application in classroom action which doesn’t fit the teacher planning program, (2) The mathematics studies started with the spell of Pancasila and pray together. In the middle of the teaching learning process the teacher used classical-individual and using real media to stimulate the student. In the class the teacher always give the exercise and the example of his question or exercise for the deaf student as their homework and motivate the deaf student to study, (3) the deaf student has the same activity with the normal student, they easily to conduct to focus in learning process. They listen, stare, writing, reading, observes the table, remembering, practice, learning language using speech and manual. Based from this studies, the researcher suggest to teacher for their teaching learning process is always bring their learning tool as their guide to achieve the appropriate teaching learning plan.
