Metacognitive in mathematics learning leads students to be able to know and control the way berfikirnya to have the ability to think objectively, critically, careful, analytical and logical, so that students can solve all his problems independently. This study aims to determine metacognitive students in solving mathematical problems. Subjects in this study were students at SD Muhammadiyah 08 Dau, consisting of 28 students and 6 students selected to be interviewed. Interview subjects selected on the basis of their academic achievement that students with high achievement, medium, and low on the consideration of a mathematics teacher in the classroom V-A. The instrument used in this study were metacognitive instrument, test item and comes with the interview. The results using the instrument showed that of the four metacognitive metacognitive aspects: awareness, cognitive strategies, planning and re-checking the response of each of these aspects are in average 3.24; 3:17; 3.02 and 3.26, and the average overall average was 3.17. In addition, these results are reinforced by the construction of test and interview students, namely that of the four aspects of metacognitive average number of students in both categories in mathematical problem solving.
