Abstract

The selection model of study really determines the quality of studying process in the class. Based on the observation done by observatory and teachers of MTs Al-Musthofa Canggu, the information is difficult for 7th student when they do the task of (Arithmetic Operation of Frament Calculation ) where they just do operate numeral (Arithmetic Operation of Frament Calculation ) directly in addition of learning process, the teacher still not giving enough in the learning process portion. The effort to solve the problem is using constructive learning model by means of problem solving approach. In studying the type of this, it has four components, such: (1) class attendance; (2) team; (3) quis; and (score of individual development). The observation is designed to increase the ability of the MTs Al - Musthofa canggu’s student class of 7th in problem solving in the material (Arithmetic Operation of Frament Calculation ) by means of problem solving approach and the respond. . The kind of observation is classroom action research (PTK) that is designed to solve the problem in the class and repair the process of study. Based on the research, it is showing learning using problem solving approach in (Arithmetic Operation of Frament Calculation) material can increase their of study and their ability in problem solving of MTs Al – Musthofa Canggu 7th class, can be seen from the first final cycle test the average score is 38,4% with percentage of completeness 11,7%, in the second cycle the average score 78,9% with percentage of completeness 79%. While, in the ability of problem solving for student, there are three indicators in questioner that is: the ability of problem solving as an objective, process, and ability. They show the percentage 65,2% in the first cycle and 86,4% in the second cycle. Based on the result of both cycles, there is a rising from the first cycle to the second cycle and give the target decided by MTs Al-Musthofa Canggu.
