## Abstract

Transcendental equation system is hard to solve analytically and for that reason, there is an initiative to solve it using numerical method. Numerical calculation is the technique to solve a problem that is formulated mathematically by algebra calculation operations and the solution that can be gained from the technique is approximation solution. Seidel method is the method that is used to solve numerical transcendental equation system. Seidel method in its solution use formula to predict an approximation of the roots so there is fixed points. This formula can be expanded by rearranging the functions of equation so x and y is placed in left side of the equation and followed iteration can be conducted to reach convergence to the real roots. Following are the steps of Seidel method to solve transcendental equation system: (1) to write a transcendental equation system, (2) to transform the system of equation into explicit x and y by algebraic manipulation on both sides of the equation; (3) to give early estimation as an approximation of the roots that fulfill the conditions of convergence; (4) to iterate Seidel; (5) to proceed the iteration continually until it get the least error value. Smaller the error, more accurate the estimated value. In numerical calculation, calculation is conducted iterated or continuously using computer. Without computer, numerical calculation doesn’t give much help. Therefore, program is a necessity. Matlab is an easy programming language and appropriate for analysis and numerical calculation purpose. In addition, Matlab is developed as a language of programming and a tool of visualization that offer many abilities to solve many kinds of mathematics-related cases. Then, the program is helpful to solve transcendental equation system using Seidel method.
