Abstract

This study is aimed to describe occurring teaching learning process, to describe students’ learning ability, and to describe students’ achievement. Learning approach used in this study is Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) learning approach. This study uses qualitative approach, while it is descriptive qualitative study. It is conducted in April - May 2012 in even semester by year of 2011/2012. The object of this study is students of VII-D SMP Negeri 18 Malang in triangle material. Data collection technique uses teachers’ and students’ observation activity sheet and test. Result of this study uses Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) learning approach shows the percentage of teachers’ activity in meeting I, it reaches the average of 84,59% with good criteria, in meeting II, it increase to 92,31% with very good criteria, and in meeting III increase to 3,84% from 92,31% to be 96,15% with very good criteria. So the total average of teachers’ activity in meeting I, II, and III is 91,02% with very good criteria. Meanwhile, students’ activity during three times meeting reaches the average of 77,22% with good criteria. Independent learning process by using Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) model; students with high ability do very well in learning, while those who are in intermediate do good in learning, and those who are in low ability do enough in learning. Besides, the result of students’ test is obtained the data percentage to 78,05%. The percentage means that the level of success reaches the classical completeness target; it is ≥ 75% that is categorized as good. It can be said that student’s learning completeness in classic can be said as good in mathematics learning by using Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) learning model.
