Abstract

In the world of mathematics,education is one of the main things to be learned, because in everyday life mathematics is indispensable. But according to the research, it turns out the process of learning in the classroom found that students tend not to actively read and not actively involved in the learning process, but students are active in this record and listen to (Handayani, 2009). This happens because the teacher only deliver material from the beginning to the end of the process of learning in the classroom with a lecture without taking the students to think critically (Sukandi, 2003). Based on the description it can attempt to change the learning model is more appropriate and desirable students. One model of learning that can attract students is a model of cooperative learning type of CIRC. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine, (a) materialize model of CIRC on the learning of mathematics in YASPURI Malang Islamic elementary schools, (b) the activity of students in learning mathematics in YASPURI Malang Islamic elementary schools using the application model of CIRC, and (c) learning outcomes students in learning mathematics in YASPURI Malang Islamic elementary schools using the application model of CIRC. CIRC model includes one cooperative learning model that was originally a cooperative integrated teaching of reading and writing (Slavin, 2005:8). In practice there are processes in mathematics subject, reflecting the cooperative, integrated, reading, and composition. This study includes a qualitative quantitative descriptive type of research conducted research Islamic elementary schools in Malang YASPURI dated 16 April 2012 to 23 April 2012. Based on the results of this study concluded (a) implementation model of CIRC on the learning of mathematics in YASPURI Malang Islamic elementary schools through six stages of learning, namely: a) Phase Formation Group; b) Present the Information Age; c) Phase discussion; d) Phase Presentation Group; e) Evaluate and Summarize Phase f) Phase Award, (b) the activities of students in learning mathematics YASPURI Islamic elementary schools in Malang by using the application model of CIRC is observed during the learning process is the process of discussion that is when one group member to read about the story, interpret the contents of the group members about the story, make a plan of settlement, the settlement in order to write (detail), chairman of the group make sure members understand about the story and how its completion, (c) student learning outcomes in mathematics learning in Islamic elementary schools YASPURI Malang by using the application model of CIRC are 7 students and 1 students did not fully complete. For teachers who apply CIRC models should consider the allocation of time to the more efficient learning. In the preparation of LKS, should be compiled in a format that is more attractive to students over the spirit of the work. Learning mathematics through the application of the model can be used in CIRC other materials relating to the matter of the story not only on the material to solve problems which related to the fragment.
