Abstract

Problem Based Learning (PBL) is a learning model that uses real-world problems to learn about critical thinking and problem solving skill as well as to obtain the knowledge and concepts of the subject matter. This research conducted has a goal to find out, (1) The implementation of Problem Based Learning model in teaching learning; (2) The activity of students in teaching learning; (3) Knowing the results of students learning after the implementation of Problem Based Learning model. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method and conducted in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah YASPURI Malang on 18 – 26 April 2012. Based on the result of the research concluded: (1) the implementation of Problem Based Learning model on learning mathematics in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah YASPURI Malang is very good. The percentage in the first meeting around 94.74%, at the second meeting 100% and at the third meeting the percentage reached 100%, so that the average percentage of the overall is 98.25%; (2) the students activity in implementation of Problem Based Learning model on learning mathematics in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah YASPURI Malang during the learning process 6x35 minutes or three meetings with the good categorize reached 75.33%. The student activity at each meeting have increased with the detail of percentage in first meeting is 68%, second meeting is 74% and third meeting 84%; (3) students learning outcomes in the implementation of Problem Based Learning model on learning mathematics in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah YASPURI Malang is good. The percentage is 89.28% which the students who have completed as many as 25 students and the students who have not completed as many as 3 students.
