Abstract

Make a Match is a learning method which is using question and answer cards where the question must be solved in order to find the pair of the card on the answer cards. This research is conducted with purposes to, (1) Describing the method in application of type in cooperative learning make a match on mathematics teaching and learning process at State Elementary School 03 of Gadingkulon in change a fragment into percent form and decimal fraction as the topic. (2) Describing the studentsÂ’ motivation after the method in application of type in cooperative learning make a match on mathematics teaching and learning process at State Elementary School 03 of Gadingkulon applied. (3) Describing the students’ result of the study after the method in application of type in cooperative learning make a match on mathematics teaching and learning process at State Elementary School 03 of Gadingkulon apllied. The research design of this research is descriptive qualitative, where descriptive qualitative is a research that drawing the meaning or the data which already collected. This research is conducted in State Elementary School 03 of Gadingkulon on May, 12-20, 2012. Based on the result of this research, the researcher can draw the conclusions that are (1) On the application of type in cooperative learning make a match on mathematics teaching and learning process at State Elementary School 03 of Gadingkulon using eight phases which are, (a) The preparations of the teachers and the students before the teaching and learning process, (b) Agglomeration, (c) Working through the material, (d) Find the pair game, (e) Presentations and discussions the game’s result, (f) Group appreciation, (g) Make the material conclusion, (h) Assignments and preparations for the following material. (2) Based on the result of the observation, the students motivation on the first meeting is 68,15 %, the second meeting is 84,05 %, The result of the inquiry shown there are so many students categorized as highly motivated in “The commitment to do the assignment” reached 89 %, in the aspect of “persevering in learning” reached 94,3 %, in the aspect of “resilient and forceful to face the obstacles” is 44,5 %, and then in the aspect “willing to look for and solve the problems (questions)” is 55,5 %, in the aspect “able to allocate the time for study” is 89 %. (3) The students who passed the mathematics teaching and learning process reached 77.7 %.
