Abstract

Mathematics is one of the areas of study which occupy an important role in education. Based on the observations of researchers at the Practice Field Experience (PPL) in SMP One Roof Merjosari Malang, teacher learning model used less variable. Where is the teacher in the learning activities still use lecture and assignment models, so little opportunity for students to think, students are less active and are bored in learning mathematics, as well as many students who have not met or do not understand the material presented. One of the efforts of teachers to enable students to learn mathematics is to apply the learning model cooperative type rotating trio exchange. This model is a way for students to discuss issues with classmates, because the model is done in the classroom involving students is a way to divide a group of 3 people and do the rotation, each round the teacher gives and the level of difficulty of questions about different vary for each round so that the students are expected to understand the lessons that have been taught. This study aims to describe the implementation of cooperative learning model accomplishment type rotating trio exchange (RTE) through the observation of the activities of teachers and students. And describe students' mastery learning obtained after tests carried out on the flat side of the room got up material particular prism and pyramid on the section surface area and volume of prisms and pyramid. The approach used in this study is a qualitative approach, while the kind of research is descriptive. The study was conducted on 28 April to 3 May 2012 is just pick one class as research subjects ie class VIII C as many as 33 students at Junior High School One Roof Merjosari. Based on the analysis of the activities of teachers in the implementation of cooperative learning RTE type, during two meetings that all teachers have done pretty well by looking at the percentage of teacher activity reached 73.44%. While the results of the analysis of student activity during the learning process is carried out well by looking at the percentage of student activity reached 73.15%. Mastery learning students obtained after execution type cooperative learning model RTE scores were 26 students have achieved mastery of individuals, while unresolved by 7 students. In the classical mastery learning has reached the standard set by the Classical completeness school because many students who finished in the many students who finished in the traditional reaches 78.79%.
