Abstract

Mathematics is the one important science in the world. In learning mathematics can be useful for life, when the students finished get their education formal. For the first result of observations on February 6 – 11, 2012 in Junior High School As-Salam Batu, indicated that during this learning method used by teachers most was method speech, integration and discussion. Occasional teacher using the others teaching methods like: the Problem Fee-Based Learning (PBL). But in practice learners not taught to apply or try practice matter learned. So students did not understand the benefits of matter learned. For that required kind of classroom capable of supporting understanding matter students in more deeply. The device learning will provide facilities and help teachers in preparing and execute learning and teaching in class. The Learning Model used is Project Based Learning model (PjBL). The Model PjBL can help the students understand (the concept up space cube and flat side beams through the project of work. This research aims to develop learning with model Project Based Learning (PjBL) on the material space of flat side up cubes and beams. This type of research including research development (the development of the research). The research was carried out on May 28, 2012 until on June 6, 2012 on even-numbered school year semester 2011-2012 in Junior High School As-Salam Batu. The instruments used to collect the data were pieces of assessment (validation), tests and interview guidelines. The Device development process using 4-D model consists of four stages, namely the Deployment phase (Disseminate), development (Develop), stage Design (Design), and a defining stage (Define). Next up is the process of validation of the device developed by 4 experts conducted, namely: a lecturer from Tulungagung STAIN, one lecture from Mathematic Department of UMM and, one teacher from Junior High School As-Salam Batu, and also one teacher from Junior High School Muhammadiyah 8 Batu. From the reason above the researcher take the conclusion based on the result of data has been developed is worthy to be used. The conclusions take from the describing on the basis of the results of the data validation and the lesson plan gained an average score of 4.0025. Whereas the results of the data validation LKP/LKS get average score 4.13. From the results of the average score validation RPP (lesson plan) and LKS/LKP derived average total score of 4.07 with very valid category. Trial stage only limited in Junior High As-Salam Batu. Exam results analysis of learner generated thoroughness in classical learning which are 76.47%. Thus the process of developing the research on development has been completed and has been tested by the researcher. The development of this tool could be made to the next development stage, to devices that are already developed to perfection before.
