Abstract

Each state has an obligation to provide quality education for every citizen is no exception for children with special needs. In the learning process as a mathematical study of numbers, relationships among numbers and operational procedures must be observed on the basic concepts of mathematics and procedure of mathematics. Children with special needs such as including the child's Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) also have similar obligations in the process of learning mathematics is to understand mathematics conceptually and procedurally in order to have a good learning experience to understand the math material at a higher level. Because in the process of learning mathematics conceptual understanding and procedural understanding of inter-related. This study used a qualitative approach to the type of descriptive research. Data taken in this research is the result of a written test given to the subject of research investigators and the results of interviews conducted between researchers with research subjects. The research was conducted on 02 April 2012 until 14 April 2012 at the Junior High School 18 Malang. Data obtained from this study regarding the acquisition of conceptual and procedural understanding the child's Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD). From the research that was conducted by researchers obtained data that the childÂ’s Attention Deficit Hyperactif Disorder (ADHD) is must still be guided more intensively to understand the material set both conceptually and procedurally. Teachers should be more patient and diligent in doing the learning and repeating material that has been given to remember the child Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) is an individual who has a deficiency in understanding the concept and is often forgotten in the material that has been given. Some suggestions are presented based on findings that have been obtained in this study (1) required intensive approach to the subject of study in order not to feel awkward in the presence of researchers (2) during the conduct of research is always working together and sharing with the child's Special Teacher Assistance Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder ( ADHD) in order to better understand the characteristics and their math skills.
