Abstract

According to observation and interview to the teacher done by researcher in SMP Raden Fatah Junior High School of Batu there found that in arrangement of teacher learning design, there often an obstacle about time allocation as model would be found according to material which would be learned. According to the teacher, model applied along this time often time consumed so reduce time for the next material. One of the helpful learning model for teacher and student in order to make the next learning application faster is by applying group investigation learning model. The research was done in SMP Raden Fatah Junior High School of Batu with subject mathematics teacher and students of VIII-D consisted of 26 students. The research is aimed to describe how the arrangement of learning plan by teacher and learning application using group investigation through interview and observation to teacher and students? activity. Approach used in this research was qualitative, while the research type was descriptive. The research was done on May 9th-May 21st 2011 for five times with twice teacher and students interview, twice learning process and once meeting for test. Data collection technique used observation, field note, and interview. According to analysis of teachers? activity in arranging teacher learning plan in order to arrange the plan as learning model according to group investigation model theory, although there are two obstacles, they are how to arrange steps and time allocation. In application of group investigation learning model, teacher is able to do every phase well, although there are four obstacles in application, they are heterogeneity group, task division, preparing report, and evaluation.
