Abstract

Substation is a power system component that serves as a central distribution (transmission) that connects the high-voltage transmission system with channel-channel and distribution substations. Substation function receives power from the network subtransmisi and lower the voltage to a voltage primary distribution network (Medium Voltage Network / JTM). So in this part of the decline in voltage extra high voltage or high voltage to medium voltage 20 kv. Problems often occur in the distribution system voltage is related to changes in the system that causes power loss voltage drop. Changes in voltage drop which varies due to differences in the distance between the substation and the load, when the load increases, the voltage at the receiving end decreases and vice versa when the load is reduced, the voltage at the receiving end of both Therefore consumers are located far from the point of service will tend to receive relatively low voltage, when compared with the voltage received by the consumer that is located close to the center of service Here will be discussed improvements with the installation of static var compensator (SVC) in substations to improve voltage using as the etap analysis tools. SVC is used to inject or absorb reactive power static.
