Abstract

The use of slag as aggregate is quite reasonable because the waste slag is one that has not been exploited well, therefore the slag to be one solution to the problem that occurred recently about the impact on the environment because it is the result of waste slag steel smelting now in Indonesia is still not used properly, in addition to the waste in the waste, slag also categorized tixic and hazardous waste (B3). So, find the solution of the existing problems such as slag used as aggregate in concrete mixes. This research was to determine the effect of variety in slag aggregate gradations on compression strength, porosity and tensile strength of concrete side with up and down 7% from fuller curve at 28days. Testing is done by making a total of 36 spesimens consisting of 3 gradation variety that gradation I with the size of aggregate 1,18mm = 73%, 2,36mm = 27%, 4,74mm = 75% dan 12,5mm = 25%, gradation II with the size of gradation 1,18mm = 72%, 2,36mm = 28%, 4,74mm = 62% dan = 45%, 4,74mm = 47% dan 12,5mm = 53% cylindrical spesimens made with the size of 7,5 x 15 cm for compression strength and porosity, while for split tensile test spesimens used 15 x 30 cm. From the test result obtained by the maximum compression strength of the concrete with slag aggregate gradation that occurs at gradation III above fuller curve for 36,99 Mpa, while the maximum tensile strength sides also occurs in gradation III in the amount of 32,55 Mpa and for testing the minimum porosity derived porosity also occurs in gradation III is at 2,42%. The result of testing the mechanical properties of concrete at 28 days showed that there was influence by variety in the strength of slag aggregate concrete. That the more subtle gradations on aggregate become the concrete more dense and has good quality.
