Abstract

This study concerned with the teaching learning based on Bloom Taxonomy at SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Malang. The purposes of this study were to know the components of cognitive domain covered in teaching reading used by the English teachers, to know the components of affective domain covered in teaching reading used by the English teachers, and to know the components of psychomotor domain covered in teaching reading used by the English teachers. The design of this study was descriptive research because the writer wants to obtain the information concerning the application of Bloom Taxonomy in teaching reading. In this study the writer took two English teachers as research subjects. The instruments that were used in this study were semistructured interview and non participant observation. The result of this study showed that Bloom Taxonomy was not implemented comprehensively at SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Malang. In cognitive domain, the teachers applied knowledge, comprehension, analysis, and synthesis components; in affective domain, the teachers applied receiving and responding components; in psychomotor domain, the teachers applied set and guided response components.
