Abstract
The purpose of this study was to compare the performance of Bank Central Asia and Bank Muamalat Indonesia in the 2008-2009 period approaches CAMEL (Capital, Assets, Management, Earning, Liquidity). In this study, the authors use the analysis to know the ratio CAMEL bank based on the financial statements consisting of balance sheet, income statement, statements of quality assets, and consolidated capital adequacy for 2 period, began in 2008 to year 2009. Result of calculation with the CAMEL analysis showed that the BCA has a healthy predicate with a total value of Camel in 2008 amounted to 94.43 and 95.58 in the year 2009. Whereas for BMI have enough healthy predicate with a total value of Camel in 2008 amounted to 75.46 and 68.92 in the year 2009. So the BCA has a better financial performance compared with BMI.
