Abstract

Obesity arises because the number of calories that go through more food than the calories burned, this situation if it lasts for years will lead to accumulation of excessive fatty tissue in the body, and become involved in obesity. Other factors penyabab obesity are: talent fat, enzymes, hormones, metabolism and the influence of drugs. People suffering from obesity means increase the risk of disease. The fact that shows the fat more susceptible to disease and higher mortality compared with people who are not obese. some diseases that often accompany obesity such as: coronary heart disease, diabetes millitus, hypertension, cholesterol and cancer. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of various doses of celery (Apium graviolens) against penurunkan body weight (obesity) rat (Rattus novegicus) and dose Knowing celery (Apium graviolens) effective weight loss white rat (Rattus norvegicus). This research uses a real experiment (True Experimental Research). The experimental design using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments were 0 g/200 g BB/ day (negative control); 0 g/200 g BB / day (control posit); 0.72 g/200 g BB / day; 3.6 g/200 g BB / day and 6.48 g/200 g BB / day. The population used male white rats (Rattus norvegicus) aged 2 months. The samples used for as many as 20 fish divided into 5 treatment tersiri each of 4 replications. Data analysis using one-way Anova test followed by duncan's 1%. Based on one-way ANOVA test results showed no effects of celery on weight loss white rat (Rattus norvegicus). From the results of Duncan's1% test dose of 3.6 g/200 g BB / day and 6.48 g/200 g BB / day had a mean weight loss compared with most large doses of the others, so that the dose of 3.6 g / 200 g BB / day is effective in weight loss white rat (Rattus norvegicus).
