The concept of mathematic in formal definition have been introduced for junior high school until senior high school, but when it was used in the university, students have not also applied the concepts basically. Eventhough, the students asked to identificated or solved that problem which it used both concepts. They are: real concept or not. Disabilities of student in using the non real basic concept and the definition of concept function also can used by the mathematical learning in junior high school and senior high school. Difficult has means: (1) a difficult situation, a hard of confidential, (2) The difficulty, hardship. Everyone have the optimal way to learn new information, that is by knowing learning types. Learning types is a combination from how to absorb, how to organize and process information. There are 3 learning types will be discussed in this research, they are visual, audio, and kinesthetic. This research seeks to determine (1) What learning types of students in senior high school in Malang, (2) How the ability of students to serve the functions in representations (different of) in senior high school in Malang, and (3) the difficulties experienced in providing of students in senior high school to serve the function it whit the various of representative concept if it see from the learning types of student. Research was conducted at the State and private high schools in the city of Malang, in the month of July 2009-September 2009 using a questionnaire method to survey and test methods. Based on the research results can be deduced: (1) type of study used is the most dominant visual learning type students is 89.66%, (2) the Students of senior high school in the city of Malang have a low ability to understand the concept of functions, and (c) either students with visual learning type or audio and kinesthetic are still have difficult to understanding the concept of functions. For more researchers suggested to use type of study more and more of content and different levels of education and using the suitable of materials with the teaching learning process in school. And to readers who want to research a class action is recommended to make kind of study with it conducted in the visual type of learning.
