Abstract

The more various of the children television program is, the more choice of television program which they consume. But, not all of the TV programs are good or educative in the children learning to the science, well qualities or quantities. And one of the programs which have good education to children is Si Bolang on Trans 7. Si Bolang show on 12.30-13 pm in everyday. The form of si bolang is feature and it is made in documenter film of the children adventure from each part of Indonesia. The research problems were 1) is any influence of si bolang on Trans 7 to the knowledge of Indonesian culture of children? 2) How big of the influence si bolang on Trans 7 to the knowledge of Indonesian culture of children?. Mass communication effect was used in this research. And it consists of 3 effects such as cognitive, affective and behavioral. Furthermore, this research was explanative associative research. The basic of this research was survey. Then, the research population was students in 3A, 4B and 5B level at SDN Tlogomas 2 Malang. From the characteristics that were decided was gotten 92 sample of respondent. The questioner was used as the technique of data collection and regression linier was used as the formula in the data analysis. Based on the data analysis, the result of this research showed Y = 15, 018+1,122X. It indicated that si bolang on trans 7 had positif influence to the knowledge of Indonesian culture in the children. The important of Si bolang level on Trans 7 to the knowledge of Indonesian culture in the children could be seen from coefficient determination value that was 0,552. It meant that this level showed the dependent variable 55, 2% and this variable was influenced by independent variable. In addition, the coefficient correlation value was 1,122. It meant that if the program of si bolang on Trans 7 got 1 unit of increase, so the knowledge of Indonesian culture in the children increased 1,222. Thus, the influence was in the medium category.
