Abstract

Paving blocks are used for pavement layer is relatively easier in the process and have artistic value of the flexible pavement layers, composite layers, and concrete presstress. In the manufacture of paving blocks always treat pressing, the mixture ratio and age care. In this study Fine coarse aggregate (FCA) as additional material constituent composition of paving block error in determining the amount of the mixture will result in changes in the characteristics of paving block as an environmentally friendly pavement material. So in the process of making paving block FCA pressing given treatment variation Research conducted at the Laboratory of Civil Engineering UMM and CV. King's work in the village of Sidoarjo district Tanggulangin. The mixture is used, there are six variations of the mixture with a ratio of 1:4:0, 1:4:3, 1:4:5, 1:8:0, 1:8:3, and 1:8:5. In each mixture is given four variations of pressing with a pressure 40 kg/cm2, 60 kg/cm2, 80 kg/cm2 and 100 kg/cm2. Each variable was made three specimens of each age of testing, with a total 216 specimens of paving block FCA. Tests conducted compressive strength, porosity tests and absorption tests. In the treatment of samples is done by watering 3 times a day, testing FCA block paving done at the age of 7 days treatment, 14 days, and 21 days. From the results of this study can be known mixture of compressive strength with the optimum 1:4 mixture of 1:4:3 at 255.120 kg/cm2, the porosity of 34.510% and amounted to 6.0370% absorbsinya with 100 kg/cm2 pressure. In mixed 1:8 with the optimum compressive strength results in a mixture of 1:8:0 at 142.5898 kg/cm2 compressive strength, porosity of 36.89859% and the absorption of 7.1210% with 100 kg/cm2 pressure. In six variations of a mixture and four variations of pressings included in the requirements according to ISO-03-0691-1996 on a mixture of 1:4:0, 1:4:3, and 1:4:5 but the pressings 60 kg/cm2, 80 kg / cm2, and 100 kg / cm 2 so that the mixture of 1:4:5 (pressing 40 kg/cm2), 1:8:0, 1:8:3, and 1:8:5 do not fit in the implied quality. Level deviation FCA thick paving blocks more than 3 mm and thickness of paving block FCA 4.9 mm to 6.2 mm. From the effect of variations in pressing to have an influence on the compressive strength of paving blocks FCA. Where is the compressive strength at each pressure increases with age paving block FCA and variations in each mixture. On porosity and absorption test has the effect of variations in the treatment of pressings. Although the results of porosity tests and absorption tests on each and every variation of pressing the results obtained are very variable and not constant for each variation of the mixture and aging treatment.
