Abstract

Composite material is a material which arranged from a mix or combination of two or better macro and micro basic element in different form and chemical composition, and basically it can’t be separated betwen one and other ( Groover, 1996:590 ). Composite arranged from : 1. matrix (binding material), it is a composer material which it function is to fasten the binding material together and form a structure unit or an element of composite material which can receive a burden. Matrix is divied into three categories, which are metal matrix, ceramics matrix, polimer matrix. One of materials which can be used as a matrix is Polypropylene (such a kind of plastic). 2. strengthtener, consist of fiber and powder, as it processing is through syntethic process (material which can be recycled) and natural (one time process). An example which can be used as a strengthener is hull of rice, because hull of rice is a waste from paddy processing which it’s amount is so many and it’s economic value is very cheap. Hull of rice is a natural material which contain many lignoselulosa, which can cause strong and hard characteristic (Wati, 2006:12 ). Phase which done in this research is determine the variation of mesh measure by siftering that can produce a variation mesh measure of 80, mesh 150, and mesh 200. Then determine the precentation of mixing process which are 5%, 10%, 15% and 20%. Then make a specimen with moulding injection process. Afterward a pull experiment is performed with a burden of 1500 tonforce. Based on data analysis, the result of lowest pull experiment is equal to 586.4 kgf/mm² on mesh measure of 200 µm-20%, while the highest pull experiment result is obtained at 638.8 kgf/mm² from mesh measure of 80 µm-5%.
