Abstract

Conflict is one of the problems working in a company that can negatively affect the survival of the company if not handled properly. In a high conflict level, work activity can be disrupted so that the achievement of company objectives to be pursued. Conflicts can arise from various factors. One of them is the presence of ineffective communication between the leadership with the employee. Leaders or managers have a vital role in advancing the company with effective communication to employees. Thus the effectiveness of communication between managers with employees in the company to eliminate the labor conflict that occurred in the company. This study aims to examine the relationship between the effectiveness of communication with the conflict manager working on the production employees of PT Semen Gresik. This research is noneksperimen through quantitative methods, with correlation approach. The data collection techniques used were a scale, that scale (1) the effectiveness of the communication manager (2) labor conflict. The sampling in this study using purposive sampling technique, with a total sample of 110 employees of PT Semen Gresik. In data processing, analysis techniques used are product moment correlation analysis technique. In the calculations, the obtained value of r at = - 0.669, p = 0.000 showed a negative relationship which is significant between the effectiveness of communication with managers for employee conflict. That means the higher the effectiveness of communications manager with the employee, the lower the labor conflict and conversely the lower the effectiveness of communications manager with the employee, the higher the employee conflict. Effective contribution to the effectiveness of the communication manager for employee conflict of 44.8%. The rest was influenced by other variables not studied by the researchers.
