Abstract

Tourism became an industry with important role. This tourism sector supported Indonesia’s income. Hotel Business is a business unit in service and tourism sector. Hotel business unit is a service business in giving service consisted of hotel product and hotel facility which are should be able to serve the consumer in good way so that it could influence the positive image of the hote. Public relations is a communication tool of the company aimed to create good communication with various parties to reach the company destination. Marketing is an effort to pull the customer to buy a product or service, responsible in anticipate and satisfy the consumer needs and making profit for the company. Here the role of public relations in supporting marketing is so important so that the product or service would be known by the company, helping to support the promotion and commercial messages, creating positive image for the company. The research titled: THE ROLE OF PUBLIC RELATIONS IN SUPPORTING MARKETING IN PRIMA HOTEL CIREBON. The research was qualitative descriptive. The location was in Prima Hotel Cirebon. Data collection technique was interview with Executive Assistant Manager, Public Relations Manager, Assistant Public Relations Manager, Assistant Sales and Marketing and four consumers of Prima Hotel Cirebon. Data analysis technique was interactive qualitative data analysis, data analyzed through three phases: data reduction, data service, conclusion and verification. Data validation checking technique used source triangulation by interviewing Executive Assistant Manager, Public Relations Manager, Assistant Public Relations Manager, Sales and Marketing Manager, also four consumers of Prima Hotel Cirebon. From the research, the public relation of Prima Hotel Cirebon applied Marketing Public Relations which cooperated with sales and marketing department and always tried to create the customer’s satisfaction and trust and loyalty and Prima Hotel Cirebon. Public Relation of Hotel Prima Cirebon is a part of company’s management which had important role in supporting the hotel’s marketing .The role was so dominant in handling promotion element and mix marketing shaped by Sales and Marketing Department, so that the Prima Hotel Cirebon could reach the profit needed.
