Anxious in the face of chemistry lesson is still a lot happens, especially in high school students, where students are required to be able to concentrate on studying chemistry while studying chemistry also requires special attention from parents and educators. Students who experience anxiety in particular chemistry lesson will show the attitude of not willing to learn, feel inferior, there is no means to learn chemistry, confused, nervous, anxious, and worried. Anxiety in chemistry lessons emerge from the fear of students' tasks, sense of failure or can not at the time of chemical test, and the fear of bad grades. Seeing this phenomenon will require special handling to reduce the anxiety. One way to lower it is with a relaxation technique which is known that relaxation techniques are more effective ways to reduce anxiety and is known to be able to help someone to achieve a relaxed state quickly under most circumstances. This study aims to determine the effect of progressive relaxation technique imagination of anxiety students in chemistry lessons. This study is an experiment with one group of research methods pre and posttest design is the design of experiments that use only one group of subjects (single case) and take measurements before and after the treatment on the subject. Variable experiments is progressive imagination relaxation techniques and variables that measured anxiety. The study lasted for 5 days, with repeated measurement technique on the measured variables (anxiety). Data were analyzed using simple statistical data analysis techniques t test repeated observations, namely the calculation of the average difference observations. Results of the study found that there was found a difference in the level of anxiety students in each stage of treatment / treatments from relaxation methods. From the analysis it can be seen that the mean pretest showed 159.67 while the mean posttest showed decreased 90.67. This already shows the differences in anxiety experienced by students before treatment was given and after treatment was given. In addition there is t = 28.32 with a significance value of 0.000 (sig <0.010), indicating that this result is very significant. From the comparison of these results provide information that can be predicted if the relaxation is carried out routinely in the longer term likely to give good results on the variables measured. In addition, the measurement on the first day until the fifth day is a comparison of verification data that is to explain that there was a change in the variables measured. Of the several explanations above, so we can know that there are effects of progressive relaxation technique imagination of anxiety students in chemistry lessons.
