Along with the construction progress of our country, resulting in the increasing need for building materials. The need for sand, river and mountain currently growing and increasingly limited supply, thus allowing sand beach will be used for building materials, including for the construction of heavy-construction because ofthe limitations of sand from the river and mountains . Therefore in this study examined the characteristics of sand south coast of East Java in terms of strength of concrete. In this study, cylindrical concrete specimens with a height of 30 cm, diameter 15 cm for each test area used each of 3 specimens. Tests conducted in this research is to cement the physical, physical, sand, gravel abrasion, compressive strength of concrete, concrete strength and modulus of elasticity split concrete. By using PPC, sandy beach concrete compressive strength in comparison with river sand concrete compressive strength is the ratio of 40% - 60% at 14 days and 80% - 20% at 28 days. By using a PC, the strength of concrete as compared with sandy beach sandy river of concrete strength is the ratio of 40% - 60% at 14 days and 20% - 80% at 28 days. Modulus of elasticity is affected directly by the strength of concrete.
