In an effort to achieve my goals and success in life by having a high IQ, high education, and the title alone is not enough there are still many other things that a supporter even be a determinant factor in achieving success, one of which is to have high emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence is absolutely necessary as a balancer between the mind and emotions. With a good blend between cognition and emotion will bring up a self-control, instropeksi, creativity, self-management, commitment, ability to understand the wishes and feelings of self and others, as well as highly motivated to perform better. Many things can be done in an effort to hone and improve emotional intelligence, one of them by following the training program honed emotional intelligence lately rampant organized in various agencies and institutions, both regular and at one particular moment. Among the many existing training, Islam teaches sunna fasting as a training that is at all times and can be done during the fasting is done by keihlasan and self-awareness. From the discussion above, researchers are interested to reveal more about the relationship of fasting Sunnah frequency with emotional intelligence in the form of research with the title of Relations Between Frequency of Fasting Sunna With Emotional Intelligence. Samples are students of the Faculty of Psychology University of Malang force in 2002 as many as 60 people, with the sampling method using a quota sample. Based on the research, it is known that there was a significant positive relationship between fasting traditions with emotional intelligence, where the correlation coefficient (r) obtained equal to 0.430 with sinifikansi level is 0.001, which means that the higher the frequency of the fasting traditions of students, the higher emotional intelligence, and vice versa the lower the frequency of the sunna fasting students will get low emotional intelligence. To find high-low trend both variables using the T score, while the results of the calculation of the frequency distribution of T score sunna fasting was found that students who are fasting sunahnya high frequency only 26 people (43.33%) of the 60 people studied, while the rest are students who frequencies Low sunahnya fasting for 34 people (56.67%). For the distribution of T score of emotional intelligence was discovered that most students have a low emotional intelligence, namely as many as 32 people (53.33%), while the rest have high emotional intelligence as much as 28 (46.67%). Then, from the calculation of the coefficient of determination (r2) obtained 0.185 or 18.5%, which means that the fasting traditions have effective contribution towards improving emotional intelligence at 18.5% while the rest is the influence of educational factors, parents, and community.
