Abstract

The framework of thinking that underlies this study is the individual with diabetes who have positive self acceptance / high will tend to have compliance in treatment is high. And instead of individuals with diabetes who have low self-acceptance will tend to be low also in compliance in treatment. This research is a correlational study which aims to determine whether there is relationship between the variables without affecting the variables studied. And this correlational study aims to determine the relationship between self-acceptance with compliance in undergoing treatment in patients with diabetes mellitus. This research was conducted December 17, 2005 until January 12, 2006 with research subjects with diabetes mellitus who were conducting inpatient at Saiful Anwar General Hospital unfortunate samples of 60 persons. Data taken for self-acceptance and compliance in treatment, using a Likert scale. Mengguanakan trial try out unused with internal validity and reliability testing using techniques Alpha. Through data analysis found that there is a very significant relationship (r = 0, 993 with p = 0, 000 where p <0, 010) between self-acceptance with compliance in undergoing treatment in patients with diabetes mellitus.
