Depression is a major mental health problem today. This is important because people with depression productivity will decline and this is very bad consequences for a society / country that is building. People who are depressed are those who suffer most. At least there are four chronic diseases a possibility of depression in sufferers one of them is HIV / AIDS. The uncertainty over the fate of people living with HIV and AIDS will suffer the potential to cause feelings of anxiety and depression. AIDS infected people will feel a sense of dying, guilt would make the behavior of infection, and a sense of exiled by others. The purpose of this study to determine the dynamics of AIDS sufferers of depression include: (1) The factors cause depression in people with AIDS, (2) The symptoms of depression that raised people with AIDS, (3) The response or reaction to AIDS patients against depression, and (4) The efforts of people with AIDS to depression. The research method used was a single case study method (single case study) in the qualitative paradigm. The data collection is done through interviews, observation, and psychological tests. Data analysis done using descriptive analysis, ie using words to the actual objec menggambarakan experienced AIDS patients for depression. The results showed that depression causes AIDS patients were divided into two, namely: (1) cognitive factors, the subject of thinking that deviates from the pattern of logical interpretation or wrongly interpret an event or events, focusing on the negative situations that happen to him, and expectations a pessimistic and negative about the future. (2) psychosocial factors, is due to the syndrome of HIV / AIDS itself, and exacerbated by the lack of family support on self-subject and the subject of the death of friends because of contracting HIV / AIDS. Symptoms that raised the mood of depression, decreased interest or pleasure in striking, a sense of worthlessness or excessive guilt, thoughts of death. Response or a reaction that appears is rejected, angry, and depressed when he learned he was hit by HIV / AIDS, and finally to accept his situation. Efforts are made to reduce the depression that happen is by doing meditation and social support to colleagues who are also living with HIV / AIDS.
